If you still have a CCTV DVR system in the mid 2020s you're a bit of a legend! This is really old school technology these days and it might just be time to take a nervous peek at the latest stuff.
These older DVR systems were for analog cameras which really means low resolution and pretty dumb.
Why spend hours, or even days searching for footage that is so bad it'd make a grown man cry anyway?
If you still use a dial phone and a fax machine - have at it I say!
Otherwise join the rest of us with a nice new IP system with a bit of AI to help you along. The image quality is incredible and you can get the system to help you find what you're looking for in no time.
How do I know if I have a CCTV-DVR system? Great question! On the back of the recorder you'll see connectors like this:
You won't see those on a modern NVR (network video recorder) because they're old hat now. NVRs will have network ports, or maybe even just one network port. Nice!
Honestly this old analog stuff is a nightmare compared to IP. So many more hassles with connections, interefernce, power problems and so many fittings - and all to get a vastly inferior result.
But hey, I'm a bit nostagic so I'll leave the rest of teh page here just in case anybody is still rockinga 66 series DVR.

How to set your CCTV DVR System for daylight saving
Your 66 series CCTV DVR System can easily be set to take into account daylight savings time.

1. Right click on your mouse and login to your DVR. You will see ...
2. Click on the Settings icon (the far left one that looks like the hammer and screwdriver) and then click on General.
You'll see ...
3. Check the DST box and then click on Set.
You'll see ...
4. For New Zealand set as follows:
- Start 1st Sunday in April at 0200
- End last Sunday in September at 0200
You're done! Now go and have a lie down or a cup of tea or give yourself a pat on the back. Your DVR is now set for life or until the New Zealand Government decide to change daylight savings time.
